Amica Insurance Call Center

Amica Insurance, a Rhode Island-based mutual insurance company, purchased an existing one-story, 34,000 s.f. former bank operations and data center, which they gutted in anticipation of renovating the building into a new 24-hour customer service call center. The existing building was extensively renovated on both the exterior and interior. For security reasons the original building had minimal windows; original windows were replaced, and new ones added to double the amount of windows, allowing natural light into most areas of the building. Additional exterior renovations included a new roof and sloped roof entrance canopy. Amica’s corporate brand interior finishes were utilized, but design features were added to compliment the standard finishes, including walls with colored glass accents, custom millwork, and decorative wood ceilings. Site improvements included landscaping, outdoor dining patio, LED site lighting, and doubling the amount of parking spaces. The building also has a new full-building emergency generator, allowing operations to remain fully functional during power outages.
