Project Description:

Vision 3 Architects designed this new 26,600 s.f., two-story outpatient medical office building in the Olneyville neighborhood of Providence, RI for Providence Community Health Centers (PCHC). The state-of-the-art health center provides a variety of services including Adult Medicine, Family Medicine, Ob/Gyn, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health, Express Care, and Lab Services. The project accommodates 39 exam rooms for primary care and quick care patient, including four all-isolation and observation exam rooms, X-ray suite, Phlebotomy Lab, and a multipurpose community room.

The interior layout of the building was driven by a patient-centered design approach that centralizes staff areas making them more accessible to the clinical spaces. Interior finishes were selected to create a warm and inviting environment with a color palette that incorporates the client’s branding and meets the durability, maintainability, and infection control requirements for the intended medical uses.

The new health center is situated in a residential neighborhood with residential on one side and a major highway on the other. The exterior was carefully designed with brick façade which faces the residential street, transitions to fiber cement siding and three gabled forms which help to break down the scale of the building and a large curtain wall facing Route 6.
