“Vision 3 Architects was sensitive to our image as a leading non-profit in Rhode Island and designed an office that gave us a distinguished look without the hefty price tag. To say we were satisfied would be an understatement.” – Angelo Miccoli, Vice President, United Way of Rhode Island
The interior conversion of Calendar Mills into the regional headquarters for Rhode Island’s leading non-profit organization, united aesthetic details appropriate to the historic building with the modern, functional needs of United Way. Challenges posed by the historic building, which was originally built in 1845, were cleverly turned into design features. An efficient layout embraced every available square foot of space, while incorporating every structural wall and column. Building systems were left exposed and woven with acoustic panels to become a signature design feature of the office. Located in Olneyville, Calendar Mills was chosen strategically by United Way as part of a revitalization effort for the once thriving mill neighborhood.
